new year...new blog...

i never thought i'd have a blog...ever. i caved...:)

so here's the story behind it all.

at the end of 2008, me and a friend decided we were going to do 12 new things in 12 months for the new year. think the movie "the bucket list". i haven't seen it, but apparently it's the same concept.

basically this meant doing something new each month. i went to japan, ran a 5K, played golf, picked up tennis again, set up friends on a date (they are now engaged...:) ), and took up riding horses. if you're counting that's only 6...yep, i only got about half way through.

so that brings me to 2010. i'm starting again with a new list and now a blog to hopefully hold me somewhat accountable for actually finishing my list this year. i'm not promising anything too daring like jumping out of planes (sorry drew)...but i've got some fun ideas up my sleeve.

i have to explain the name of my blog, i give full credit to my good friend ashley & some random girl that works at anthropologie. two years ago, i was invited to join a biblestudy. i didn't know most of the girls in the study, but apparently one of them (ashley) had seen me non-stop for the month leading up to the start of the biblestudy. she had a joke with her roommates that she'd had a "tall redhead" sighting. little did she know we'd end up in the same biblestudy. :) a few months later, i was in a dressing room at anthropologie and asked a sales associate for a different size. a few minutes passed and i heard the sales associate talking to one of her coworkers and say, "oh, this is for that tall redhead"...so funny! regardless, i'm not that tall...i'm only 5'8 and i consider my hair auburn, but whatever.
